HOW TO...

FAQ

Facing some issues and have no idea "how to..." ? Ok, you may want to read the stuff below or if I missed to type something to help you sort things out, post on Discussions section

Where to start?

That's the most simple question. Go to main page and choose a category.

See something you want to use? Go for it!

By the way, there are two versions of overlays. Online and offline ones. Offline (aka downlodable ones) can be found on Download page

How to use downloaded overlays?

Different overlays have different functionality. It's difficult to write tutorials for each of them, so here you go.

  1. Open OBS, click the + button/icon from Sources manager window
  2. Select Browser from options panel
  3. Select Local file checkbox , click the Browse button and select the html file provided by the download
  4. Set up the width and height of the overlay (it depends on what the overlay is showing)
  5. (Optional)Select the Refresh checkbox
  6. Tweak the position of the installed overlay by dragging the red lines or corners
  7. To toggle overlay visibility use the eye icon to show or hide

The Interact OBS feature allows interacting with content of the overlay via OBS interface.
Please note, not all overlays from our platform are designed/developed to support the Interact feature.
Select the browser overlay from Sources management panel, right-click and choose the Interact option

How to use online overlays?

A similar use, but instead of browsing for the overlay, just copy / paste your favorite overlay URL into OBS's URL field.

  1. Open OBS, click the + button/icon from Sources manager window
  2. Select the Browser from options panel
  3. Go to the hosted overlay you want to use and copy it's URL from browser's address bar
  4. Paste the URL in the OBS's URL field
  5. Set up the width and height of the overlay (it depends on what the overlay is showing)
  6. (Optional) Select the Refresh checkbox
  7. (Optional) Tweak the position of the overlay by dragging the red lines or corners

How to edit overlays?

Emmm... let me see...There are two types of editing. The one via Interact OBS feature (already mentioned above) and the other one where you'll need to dive into source markup editing.
Which one do you want me to write about? Post on Discussions section

These overlays work with other live streaming software?

I did tested the SplitCam software using these (a few of these) overlays but SplitCam doesn't support a similar feature like Interact (available on OBS), but yes, they work fine with SplitCam, exception the live interaction feature. Tho I think SplitCam devs are working to implement such function on their software too.

I see broken or missing images how to fix this?

Post on Discussions section. Add the link of the overlay you're using so I don't have to guess.
